Sitting Mountain

Here I will sit feelingly unmoving
at the base of this mountain
Where a heroic being
       a messenger of furious righteousness
dwells above on a perilous post
                        and also in my heart

Shy in love and mustn't be startled
I try my best to be quiet, modest

He's pacing about with such concentration
Never knowing what's down below
Joyous bubbles of my devotion
                          to all the heroic notions
Rise above on wings of change that
catch him from the
                     ledge where he hangs

I sit here so long, not longing to move on
Long enough to become part of
               the mountain's very foundation

A pillar, protector,
as directed by the Great Erector
The One who moves the
                           sun and all the stars

The many hearts' architecture

Your Captive

Set this captive free
Of dust and flesh and misery
In Your word a promise bequeathed
To see clearly
You make the mind's eyes to be
                                           unsheathed

Only when You take control
Never when my will is bold
Never with desires hollow
Truth be told, Lord Supreme,
It's You alone I want to follow

For it is You who will deliver
From the darkness, from evil's quiver
Empower me with Your force,
                          My Master
Save my soul from this hither thither
I want my days without remorse
I, the passenger, You must deliver!
