Burnt Offering

Ravenous lions were out for
blood that night
Like the baby in the bull rushes
A hidden birth in a barn
Wise men come from Qumran to say
"I see you, Lord."
Not estranged of spiritual duty
and with unequivocal knowing,
enough to make the journey,
bearing offerings to burn, kneeling
before the anointed, condescended
to the same prison of flesh and
world of men who
scheme and grind away
and cause their own decay
like God has done with all of us
Countless rounds of birth and death
But we could just stay awake
from one dreamscape to the next
We could stop always dying
a little every day
at the hands of a foreign dictator
their puppets, and ourselves,
perhaps the worst of all

There is a rumor: Jews always
kill their prophets
But this never happened!
"Give us Barabbas!"
Bar Abbas
Hebrew for Father is ABBA
Bar is for Son
So the Jews chose their messiah
James the Just, the brother of Jesus
was revered as the Bishop of
the Jerusalem church of the
People of the Way for over 30 years
From the Gospel of Thomas:
The disciples said to Jesus,
"We know that you will depart from us.
Who is to be our leader?"
Jesus said to them, "Wherever you are, you are to go to James the righteous, for whose sake heaven and earth came into being."
James was killed in his nineties
Then written out of the living proof
that miracles can be done with
with man as vehicle and for his benefit
The benefit of all mankind to live exhaulting our Creator's masterpiece

A schism in the doctrine of Christ between the followers of Jesus
and a sicario working for Herod
now claiming he found Jesus
He's been saved and do it his way
From a pink cloud of delusion
power was consolidated
under the bloody cross
All connection to the real work
Jesus had done was all but lost
Yet everything hidden will be revealed
Unearthing heaven's promise
with sign and seal
From the Dead Sea Scrolls,
The Gospel of Mary
to the Gospel of Thomas the twin
Which tells us,
The disciples said to Jesus,
"Tell us how our end will be."
Jesus said, "Have you discovered, then, the beginning, that you look for the end? For where the beginning is, there will the end be. Blessed is he who will take his place in the beginning; he will know the end and will not experience death."

Hidden for nearly 2 millennia
Coptic priests suspected the worst
They preserved the parchment in
earthen vessels, protected
their whereabouts, not wanting
for them to be destroyed
Wanting those living words to
someday come to light.
A child's discovery then
promised us Thomas, she held it up
to her poor parent's eyes
They took it from her and
burnt some for kindling
before selling the rest in a crowded
Egyptian market.
